1st night was okay. During report, one of the patient gave us a box of rochers to share. I did 1 NGT feed, 1 burette change, 1 extension tubing. And aft counting down while re-priming anader burette. Me and Gai watched a few seconds worth of fireworks from afar, at the window.
It was break time ard 0030hrs. It's 2009. I went into tea room with the amah. While she slept, I ate. And smsed the usual Happy New Year greetings.
Then anader amah came in, and I could see she wanted the lights out. So, I went back to the ward. Nurse station it is. And Phua asked me to go read a book or smthg. So I did. It's not that it's not busy. It IS busy, with all the call bells ringing. Numeral requests - missy very cold, missy drink water, missy dont want blanket, missy blanket one more - just enough to let me sit down for a while inbetween. But still, Mabel blogged and bloghop-ed, Gai went frenster, Jamilah online shopped. And me, I read book, smsed, chitchat. All these we do during intervals of busying.
And we even talked abit of scary story. Scary true story. So in the end, me and jamilah did hypocount tgt instead of one side each as planned. And still, she ran out immediately from iso aft doing h/c. Cos she say the patient is givin' her one funny look. Enough about eerie stuffs.
I quite enjoy night shift though not the little amount of lights.
Since it's the new year. Of course, there's a need for some resolutions. - Earn more money - Save more money - To buy New moon, Eclipse and Breaking dawn. - To finish reading Twilight. - To make sleeping early a habit. - To treat my resolutions seriously. - To think of more sensable resolutions.
OH YES. And I NEED to let everyone know. Dat, I haf a friend name Myat Thuzar Swe. She was also on night on 31st Dec. So she also counted down in the ward. But she did it in a real ridiculous manner. As we all know, Ward 7A class B2, each bed has a TV each. She was changing pampers with an SAN. And when she heard the TV from the bed beside start to count down.. She left her patient half naked, ran out with her gown, gloves and mask to "5, 4, 3, 2, 1!! YAYY!!!"
CRAZY GIRL. Tsktsk.
And thanks to Van and whoever was DAY OFF. Thanks for callin' on our night shift to make us jealous. Pfft.
